Examples of our work include:

Mac Makes Music, Mac - from Oct 2020 we will be acting as External Evaluators for Mac Makes Music's strategic music inclusion programme, funded by Youth Music (fund c). Mac Makes Music's end of year report, published in May 2021, can be downloaded here. We are currently working on the 2021-22 evaluation. Across 2022-23 we will be undertaking a series of observations of mac makes music programmes, reporting against Youth Music's Quality Framework.

Sounds of Play: Quench Arts coordinated this project on behalf of Birmingham Early Years Music Consortium, working alongside Nicola Burke and Birmingham Forward Steps. Sounds of Play involved a consortium of 7 arts and music organisations, 6 early years services and the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC). Please see our Early Years strand for more detail.

Base Studios (The Junction) - we achieved c£100k from Youth Music for Base Studios to deliver a substantial band development project for young people from across Dudley for 3 years from 2016-2018. This project built on the success of the previous Base Bands programme (May 2013-Dec 2014) and included training and employment for 4 youth band leaders each year. Quench Arts coordinated the programme and acted as evaluation consultants.

Based Out - we achieved funding from Dudley MBC's Community and Enterprise Awards to develop Base Studios’ schools offer, increasing links between the studio and local schools so that more partnership working was possible. This was developed throughout 2013-17.

We also worked with Base to obtain an Arts Council 'Grants for the Arts' award for an Audience Growth Project, including regular 'Mix It Up' performance nights promoting different genres and an educational enhancement offer for schools, which was delivered across 2015-17.

Birmingham Music Education Partnership (S4E) and Solihull Music Service - we wrote the successful funding application to Youth Music for the Triangle Project - an Early Years programme for BMEP and Solihull Music Service, aimed at children and families based in Chelmsley Wood and Shard End. Our Musical Wonderland project (detailed here) was based on learning from the Triangle Project and worked with the same partners.

Dudley Arts Hub - working in partnership with Midan Ltd, we were contracted to engage with a range of individuals and organisations across Dudley to:

-identify the needs for arts and cultural educational activity in Dudley

-identify the existing supply and take up of arts and cultural educational activity

-suggest what actions the stakeholders (Dudley Arts Connect Hub) should take in response to findings and gaps in provision

-Identify and celebrate the outcomes for the children and young people from current programmes of activity.

The role of Quench Arts was specifically to lead consultation with children and young people, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Mac Makes Music, Mac - we undertook work on behalf of Mac Makes Music to assist with researching options for potential seminar, workshop leaders and key note speaker/s for an Early Years Music Network Conference and also to research opportunities for their Music Inclusion CPD offer. Quench Arts were also contracted to assist in the coordination of training opportunities offered to Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Warwickshire, Worcestershire Music Education Hubs around working with Children and Young People in Challenging Circumstances and also to help plan and coordinate a conference related to this target group. We have also delivered information, advice and guidance sessions for local musicians on behalf of Mac Makes Music

Wyre Forest Council -  we delivered a seminar for KAF Creatives, part of Wyre Forest Council, around setting up a Community Interest Company (CIC).
